Man arrested and jailed after stealing car and attacking owner

Police in Lahr, Germany, arrested a 35-year-old man who is accused of stealing a woman's car after a night out at a bar. The incident occurred when the man allegedly took the woman's car keys without her knowledge while they were together at the bar, consuming alcoholic beverages.

Following the theft, the man drove off in the woman's car. Later, the woman, accompanied by two witnesses, managed to locate the man. Upon confrontation, the man reportedly attacked the woman. The witnesses intervened to separate them, and the man fled the scene. The woman then alerted the police.

When police arrived, the 35-year-old suspect returned to the location. A check by officers revealed that the man did not possess a valid driver's license. More significantly, it was discovered that an active arrest warrant was outstanding against him. The specific offense for which the warrant was issued remains unclear, as does the man's blood alcohol content from the evening.

Consequently, the man was taken into custody and transferred directly to a correctional facility to serve his sentence. The woman's car was found to have sustained damage to its rim and a flat tire, possibly from hitting a curb.
