Man Arrested for Million-Dollar Robbery of Service Station Employee in Bella Vista

Police in Bella Vista have arrested a 28-year-old man in connection with a robbery that occurred on June 1. The victim, a 23-year-old employee of a service station, was reportedly carrying G. 60 million in cash and checks to deposit at a bank when he was intercepted by three hooded assailants armed with firearms.

The incident took place on route PY06. The assailants, who were traveling in a gray Toyota Allion, took a backpack containing the money and checks. The vehicle was later found abandoned in the María Auxiliadora neighborhood of Bella Vista.

Agents from the Regional Office in Itapúa of the National Police Investigations Department, led by Commissioner Joel Cabrera, conducted a raid in the Obrero neighborhood of Hohenau. The operation, headed by prosecutor Reinaldo Castillo, led to the arrest of Willian Germán Benítez Segovia. He was identified as one of the alleged perpetrators and was being sought under an arrest warrant for aggravated robbery.

During the search of the suspect's property, investigators confiscated two cell phones, a black jacket, a backpack, a cap, a security camera, and receipts for significant purchases made after the robbery. The arrest is part of an ongoing investigation into the aggravated robbery.
