Man Arrested With Over RM29,000 Worth of Drugs

Authorities in Parit, Malaysia, have arrested a 34-year-old man in connection with a significant drug haul valued at over RM29,000. The arrest occurred during a raid on a house in Kampung Teluk Saga, Kampung Gajah, on Thursday night.

The operation, conducted by officers from the Perak Contingent Police Headquarters' Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department, resulted in the seizure of various illicit substances. Police confiscated nine transparent plastic packets containing suspected heroin, weighing 146.33 grams, along with six packets of methamphetamine totaling 24.70 grams. Additionally, 170 pills suspected to be Erimin 5, weighing 53.38 grams, were found.

Further inspection of the house's living room uncovered 41 cartoon-themed plastic packets, each containing a vape cartridge filled with a liquid suspected to contain ketamine, amounting to 360.80 grams. The total value of the seized drugs was determined to be RM29,991.50. A urine test on the suspect revealed he was positive for methamphetamine.

In addition to the drugs, police seized a Proton Waja car, a Honda RS150 motorcycle, and RM3,372 in cash under the Dangerous Drugs (Forfeiture of Property) Act 1988. The suspect, who has a criminal record with 12 previous drug-related offenses, has been remanded for seven days, from August 7 to August 13, to assist with the investigation. The case is being investigated under Section 39B and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
