Man Dies After Collapsing While Fighting Fire in Turkey

A 60-year-old man has died after collapsing while assisting firefighters combat a blaze in the Yeşilhisar district of Kayseri, Turkey. Hasan Durgun lost his life after falling ill during his efforts to help control the fire.

The fire ignited in the morning hours in the Gülbayır neighborhood, spreading rapidly across agricultural lands. Emergency services, including gendarmerie, fire brigades, and medical teams, were dispatched to the scene.

Durgun, attempting to support the emergency response, experienced a sudden collapse. He received initial medical attention at the scene before being transported to Yeşilhisar State Hospital. Despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived.

Firefighters worked for approximately three hours to bring the blaze under control. The gendarmerie has launched an investigation into the cause of the fire. The incident highlights the risks faced by individuals who volunteer to assist in emergency situations.
