Man kills uncle with pistol over quince tree

A heated argument over the cutting of a quince tree tragically ended in a fatal shooting in Samsun, Turkey. The incident occurred in the Yağbasan neighborhood when Mustafa Çam, 43, confronted his uncle, İbrahim Çam, 73, who was cutting down a quince tree near their homes.

The dispute reportedly escalated quickly, leading Mustafa Çam to retrieve an unlicensed pistol. He then shot his uncle, İbrahim Çam, in the head and under the arm. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene following the incident, which took place around 7:00 PM. Despite receiving medical attention, İbrahim Çam succumbed to his injuries at a private hospital.

Authorities have initiated a search operation to locate and apprehend Mustafa Çam, who fled the scene immediately after the shooting. Initial reports suggest that the uncle and nephew lived in the same building and had a pre-existing feud related to land disputes. The investigation is ongoing.
