Martín Vergara advances decisively at Asunción M15 tennis tournament

Martín Vergara of Paraguay made a strong showing at the M15 ITF World Tennis Tour event in Asunción, advancing with a commanding victory over Brazil's Wilson Leite. Vergara secured his spot in the next round by winning 6-1, 6-0 on the central court of the Asunción Tennis Club.

Despite Vergara's success, the day was mixed for Paraguayan players. Álvaro Ariel Frutos lost to Argentina's Santiago de la Fuente in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2. Alex Santino Núñez also fell to Argentina's Juan Bautista Otegui, with a score of 6-4, 6-3.

Vergara is scheduled to play again on Wednesday against American Dakotah Bobo, who comes from the qualifying rounds with a four-match winning streak. The Paraguayan will also compete in doubles, partnering with Argentina's Santiago Giamichelli to face Federico Aguilar Cardozo of Uruguay and Juan Bautista Otegui of Argentina. Additionally, two other Paraguayan doubles pairs, Alex Santino Núñez and Álvaro Ariel Frutos Alonso, and Federico González Benítez and Facundo Martínez Morel, will make their doubles debut in an all-Paraguayan match.
