Martins, Mercedes evicted from BBNaija ‘Show Ya Sef’

Martins Iyeh and Ijeoma “Mercedes” Emi have become the first housemates to exit the Big Brother Naija Season 11 house, following a double eviction during Sunday night's live show. Their departure marks the season's initial elimination after viewer votes determined their fate.

Martins, 30, was the first to be announced, with Mercedes, 26, following shortly after. They constituted the bottom three of the week, with Martins receiving 1.63% of the vote and Mercedes 2.29%, narrowly behind Keivo's 2.92%. This eviction followed a week filled with twists and strategic maneuvering that placed numerous housemates up for public consideration.

The "Show Ya Sef" season, which premiered on July 26, commenced with 24 contestants vying for a substantial ₦160 million prize. This includes ₦100 million in cash and an SUV. Hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, the season's tagline is "Everything Is For The Taking."

A notable twist, "The Gambit," altered the traditional opening week. Housemates selected one male and one female to be guaranteed a spot until the finale, though they forfeited their chance at the grand prize. Flora and Aikou were chosen as the Gambits. Chimsom Chuka initially became Head of House, but Tram later took the lounge, selecting Sheba as her companion.

Martins, a visual storyteller, creative director, and model from Kogi State, entered the house aiming "to have fun." His birthday celebration, which included a notable lap dance from Mercedes, garnered significant social media attention. Mercedes, a massage therapist and entrepreneur from Delta State, promised "boss energy," entertainment, and authenticity during her time on the show.
