Massive Fire Erupts at Wildberries Logistics Hub in Voronezh; Ukraine Claims Drone Attack

A massive fire engulfed a Wildberries logistics center in Voronezh, Russia, with local residents reporting explosions overnight. The blaze occurred at the company's logistics hub in Aleksandrovka, Novaya Usman district, Voronezh region.

The logistics complex, which opened in November 2025, is substantial, covering approximately 152,900 square meters. Wildberries invested around 11 billion rubles (about 115 million euros) in the facility. The company confirmed that employees were evacuated from the site according to safety protocols, though the specific reasons for the fire were not immediately disclosed.

Social media posts and reports from Ukrainian sources suggest a connection to drone attacks. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and military analysts have stated that Wildberries warehouses are utilized to supply the Russian army. These facilities are also alleged to handle components subject to sanctions, including drone parts and navigation equipment.

Ukrainian media and social media accounts have claimed responsibility for the incident, framing it as part of a methodical campaign. Reports indicate that Ukraine has been targeting Wildberries logistics hubs for about a month, with over 20 warehouses reportedly attacked since mid-July. The Voronezh hub, being one of Wildberries' closest major logistics centers to the front lines and Russian border regions, is considered a strategic target.

The scale of the Voronezh facility, described as "brand new" and covering 155,000 square meters, highlights the potential impact of the fire. Reports suggest the destroyed warehouse could represent a significant loss in terms of space and inventory, potentially impacting over 3,000 jobs.
