Massive Wildberries warehouse in Russia engulfed in flames after drone attack

A massive fire erupted at a Wildberries warehouse in Russia's Sobinsky district following what Ukrainian monitoring channels described as a drone strike. The regional governor, Aleksandr Avdeev, confirmed the attack on the warehouse complex.

"A drone attacked a warehouse complex in the Sobinsky district. Buildings were damaged, and a fire broke out. People were evacuated. Operative services are working at the scene," Avdeev stated. Eyewitness videos suggest at least one drone hit the warehouse building, igniting the blaze.

The affected warehouse complex spans 58,500 square meters and had been operational since December 2024. Plans were in place to expand its area to 175,000 square meters this year. Goods from this distribution center were shipped to Moscow, other central Russian regions, and the country's northwest.

The incident highlights the ongoing impact of the conflict on Russian infrastructure. Wildberries is one of Russia's largest online retailers, and its logistics network is crucial for delivering goods across the vast country.
