MC requests deputy substitute for Sergio Torres, shot in Sinaloa; seeks to complete its bloc

Movimiento Ciudadano (MC) has formally requested the state congress to summon the substitute for local deputy Sergio Torres Félix. Torres Félix, who was the victim of a shooting attack nearly seven months ago, is still experiencing health complications that prevent him from fulfilling his legislative duties.

Sergio Esquer Peiró, the state coordinator for MC, stated that the party needs its full representation in the state congress, especially given the current political climate. He emphasized that Torres Félix's ongoing health problems necessitate the presence of his substitute, Carlos Sánchez Osuna, to occupy his seat.

The request has been officially submitted in writing to the State Congress. Torres Félix continues to recover at home, leaving his seat vacant. The party aims to ensure its legislative bloc remains complete to effectively participate in ongoing political discussions and decisions.

In February, the State Attorney General, Claudia Zulema Sánchez Kondo, reported that six individuals had been identified as suspects in the attack on deputies Torres Félix and Montoya Ojeda. Investigators utilized recovered video footage and fingerprint fragments found on two vehicles used by the alleged assailants to identify the perpetrators. Efforts are ongoing to corroborate these identities with national databases.
