Mendonça called surprise meeting to request report on Moraes, while federal police saw minister’s action as excessive

Justice André Mendonça’s order for the Federal Police to prepare a document on dialogues between Alexandre de Moraes and Daniel Vorcaro emerged during a surprise meeting last week.

Mendonça presented the request to members of the police force without prior notice, directing them to produce a report with analyses of the exchanges involving his fellow Supreme Court justice and the former Banco Master banker.

The move drew concern inside the Federal Police, where the minister’s action was viewed as excessive.
