Metro publishes 2026 Annual Public Works Program; plans spending of 232 million pesos

Mexico City's Metro has unveiled its 2026 Annual Public Works Program, outlining a significant investment of approximately 232 million pesos aimed at maintaining and monitoring various sections of its network. The program places a particular emphasis on Line 12, which runs from Tláhuac to Mixcoac.

Key interventions for Line 12 include systematic maintenance of its elevated metallic structure, as well as instrumentation, study, and monitoring of its topographic and structural behavior from Tláhuac station to the Culhuacán-Atlalilco transition. This will involve specialized equipment for monitoring vibrations, displacements, and stresses, alongside inspections of the viaduct's reinforcement structure.

The program also extends to other elevated lines within the Metro system. Complementary instrumentation, monitoring, and evaluation of the elevated viaducts will be conducted on Line 4 (from Martín Carrera-Talismán to Santa Anita) and Line 9 (from the maneuver yard to the Velódromo-Mixiuhca transition). Similarly, the elevated section of Line B, from Deportivo Oceanía to San Lázaro, will undergo similar assessments.
