Mexico City Collects 18 Tons of Aid for Earthquake-Hit Venezuela

Authorities in Mexico City have successfully collected 18 tons of humanitarian aid destined for Venezuela, which was recently affected by earthquakes. The collection effort utilized 21 collection centers established by the capital's government.

Myriam Urzúa Venegas, head of the capital's Secretariat of Integral Risk and Civil Protection (SGIRPC), confirmed the significant amount of humanitarian aid gathered. She expressed deep gratitude for the collective effort, stating, "We are all contributing a grain of sand so that the aid reaches the hands of those who need it most, those who lost everything." She assured that the centers would remain operational until the last donated item could be shipped.

The aid, comprising essential supplies, will be dispatched to Venezuela through maritime transport. Initially, the Secretariat of Public Works and Services, in coordination with Empresa de Grúas y Transportes Salas, will transport the humanitarian aid to Veracruz. From there, it will be loaded onto a ship bound for La Guaira, Venezuela.

The initiative underscores a strong sense of solidarity from Mexico City towards the people of Venezuela impacted by the natural disaster. The government's organized collection and shipping process aims to ensure the timely delivery of much-needed assistance.
