Mexico City DIF Facilitates 19 Adoptions Since Last Year

In Mexico City, the DIF has facilitated 19 successful adoptions since last year, a testament to its ongoing commitment to ensuring children's right to a family environment. Metzli Valeria Betancourt Peralta, the deputy director of Adoption Services, highlighted that 75 adoption applications have been processed during 2025 and the current year. This process is viewed as a crucial form of alternative care that restores the fundamental rights of children and adolescents.

The DIF CDMX emphasizes that adoption is a pathway to guarantee children's integral development within a family setting. The process involves thorough legal, socioeconomic, and psychological evaluations of prospective parents, whether they are married couples of at least two years, cohabiting partners with two years of shared life, or single individuals over 25. This rigorous assessment ensures that the families are well-prepared and capable of providing a nurturing home.
