Mexico City's Cablebús Line 1 suspended for annual maintenance

The Line 1 of Mexico City's Cablebús system, which serves the route from Indios Verdes to Cuautepec, is currently suspended for its annual maintenance. The essential upkeep work is scheduled to continue until August 23.

Personnel from the Electric Transport System (STE) are conducting thorough checks and performing necessary tasks to guarantee the continued safety and functionality of the infrastructure. Key activities include the replacement of rollers, the changing of belts, the tensioning of the communication cable, and the cleaning of the cabins.

To mitigate the impact on commuters during this temporary service interruption, the Mexico City Passenger Transport Network (RTP) has implemented a free alternative transportation service. This support service operates along the entire route of Line 1, ensuring users can still complete their journeys.

The annual maintenance is a standard procedure designed to ensure the reliable and safe operation of the Cablebús system, a vital mode of public transport for many residents in the Cuautepec area.
