Mid-Century Modern, Bauhaus concepts create comfortable homes

Homeowners are moving beyond single design themes, opting instead to fuse various decorative elements for spaces that truly reflect their personality. A notable trend is the combination of Mid-Century Modern aesthetics with Bauhaus influences, resulting in rooms that are both contemporary and meticulously organized.

Nur Ameera, a homeowner, shared that her inclination towards warm and comfortable living environments drove her to adopt this style. She finds the color palettes particularly appealing, noting their timeless quality and ability to express her personal identity and taste. "I prefer concepts that make every room feel warm and comfortable to live in," she stated. "I also want to create a space with a 'soul,' where every corner tells a story through the choice of colors, furniture, artwork, or decorations I create myself."

Her deep interest in art, interior design, and architecture serves as a primary source of inspiration for her home decor. Magazines featuring interior design and characterful old houses also fuel her creativity. However, rather than directly implementing ideas, she synthesizes them, adapting them to her unique aesthetic.

Nur Ameera spent approximately two years decorating her home without major renovations, taking a gradual approach based on her budget and inspiration. This method allowed her to save on renovation costs. She mentioned that most of the furniture is a result of her own ideas and craftsmanship, as she believes each space should hold sentimental value and be a repository of memories. Nevertheless, she also incorporated new and second-hand furniture to complete the various areas of her home. "For me, a room doesn't necessarily have to look expensive with pricey furniture. The way we combine each element is what gives a space its own identity," she explained.
