Milan, Fiorentina, Bologna Target Chukwueze as He Faces Uncertain Future at Milan

Samuel Chukwueze, the Nigerian winger for AC Milan, is at a crossroads with his future uncertain, as rival Serie A clubs Fiorentina and Bologna are reportedly making strong moves to sign him this summer.

Chukwueze's situation became precarious following the end of his loan spell at Fulham. Although he showed flashes of his talent at Craven Cottage, the Premier League club opted not to make the transfer permanent, leading to his return to AC Milan. While Turkish Cup winners Trabzonspor have shown interest, Chukwueze is reportedly hesitant about moving to Turkey at this stage of his career.

Adding to the complexity, AC Milan's new head coach, Ruben Amorim, has publicly expressed his desire to keep Chukwueze. Amorim indicated that players who can perform one-on-one, like Chukwueze and Alexis Saelemaekers, will be given opportunities during pre-season. "Chukwueze will stay with us. We need players who know how to play one-on-one and he is capable of that," Amorim stated, emphasizing internal assessment before external recruitment.

Despite Amorim's backing, the growing interest from Fiorentina and Bologna means a summer exit cannot be ruled out. Fiorentina has a history of admiring Chukwueze and seeks to bolster its attack, while Bologna is intensifying its efforts, viewing the Nigerian as a player who can add pace, creativity, and experience. A move within Serie A would allow Chukwueze to remain in a familiar environment. Bologna, in particular, is pushing hard, potentially as a replacement for Riccardo Orsolini, who has been linked with a departure.
