Million-Dollar Construction Machinery Heist in La Pintana

A brazen daylight robbery has shaken a construction company in La Pintana, Santiago, with the theft of valuable heavy machinery amounting to over 600 million pesos. The incident, which occurred early Monday morning, saw a group of criminals execute a meticulously planned heist, highlighting a concerning rise in organized crime targeting high-value assets.

The perpetrators gained access to the company's premises by scaling the perimeter gate. In a display of calculated violence, they intimidated the on-site security guards with bladed weapons, subsequently tying them up and confining them to a bathroom. This allowed the thieves ample time to make off with two trucks and two cranes, leaving the company facing significant financial losses and operational disruption.

The Metropolitan Robbery Brigade of the PDI has taken charge of the investigation. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the stolen machinery has yet to be recovered.
