Minister Yumaklı: 169 fires responded to in two days, 163 controlled

Turkey's Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, İbrahim Yumaklı, announced that the nation has battled 169 fires in the past two days, 110 of which were not in forest areas. The minister provided an update on social media, emphasizing the ongoing efforts to combat wildfires.

Of the 169 fires, 163 have been fully controlled. Yumaklı specifically mentioned that recent fires in Antalya's Kaş district and Isparta's Eğirdir district are now under control. This brings relief to areas that were recently under threat.

Currently, six fires persist across five provinces. Significant progress has been made in controlling the fires in Mersin's Gülnar district and Muğla's Seydikemer district. Efforts are also underway to reduce the intensity of fires in Antalya's Alanya and Muğla's Fethiye districts. Teams are working intensively, both from the air and ground, to control fires in Aydın's Çine and Balıkesir's Gömeç districts.

Yumaklı concluded by stating that the "Forest Heroes" are fighting for the "Green Homeland," highlighting the dedication of the personnel involved in these critical operations.
