Turkey Battles Wildfires: Several Fires Controlled, Others Ongoing

Wildfires are raging across Turkey, with ongoing battles against flames in Antalya, Kütahya, Muğla, Balıkesir, Çanakkale, and Yalova. Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı reported that fires in Yalova Armutlu, Kütahya Domaniç, Kütahya Altıntaş, and Çanakkale Merkez have been fully controlled.

Significant progress has been made in controlling other blazes. Yumaklı stated that fires in Muğla Seydikemer, Antalya Kaş, Antalya Kumluca, Balıkesir Edremit-Altınoluk, Çanakkale Ayvacık, and Balıkesir Gömeç are largely under control. However, firefighting efforts are continuing without interruption for the fire in Antalya Alanya.

The minister emphasized the nation's determination to protect its forests, referring to them as the "green homeland." He urged the public to be mindful and avoid actions that could spark new fires, highlighting that teams are working day and night. The ongoing struggle underscores the persistent threat of wildfires in the region.
