Singer Fynn Jamal has spoken out about the deep sincerity of her friendship with the Malaysian band Hujan, highlighting their journey from intimate indie performances to headlining stadium concerts. She described their bond as authentic, built on shared experiences and mutual support.

Jamal recalled a particularly poignant moment when Hujan actively encouraged public donations for her son Arjuna's life-saving heart surgery. She suggested that the band's perceived "wildness" stems from their commitment to being true to themselves, leading to frequent misunderstandings. "They might seem wild and wicked, but we are just a group of misfits who are cast aside," she wrote on Threads.

Reflecting on Hujan's recent "Hujan XX: Hujan 20 Tahun" concert, which drew over 17,000 attendees, Jamal expressed gratitude for being part of the historic event. She performed the song "Pijak Hatiku" with Hang Dimas, interpreting the band's evolution from small-scale beginnings to international recognition and stadium-filling success.

I still remember when Juna needed funds for heart surgery, Hujan diligently encouraged the public to help. Maybe because of that, Hujan is hated, seeming excessive just for being too much themselves. They might seem wild and wicked, but we are just a group of misfits who are cast aside.

She emphasized that Hujan's foundation is built on genuine fans, the "Raingers," who have supported them throughout Malaysia. Jamal and Dimas shared a proud, knowing smile, like parents witnessing their children receive well-deserved recognition. Guitarist AG Coco's philosophy, that "a performance is still a performance" and to "give the best, that's all," encapsulates the band's consistent dedication.
