Mohamed Salah signs two-year deal with Turkish club Trabzonspor

Trabzon, Turkey – Egyptian star Mohamed Salah has officially joined Turkish club Trabzonspor on a two-year contract, marking a significant move after a decade with England's FC Liverpool.

The 34-year-old forward received a hero's welcome from thousands of fans upon his arrival in Trabzon, signaling the high expectations for his tenure with the Super Lig side. Trabzonspor announced the deal, which reportedly makes Salah the second-highest paid player in the Premier League last season, with an annual salary of 17 million euros, excluding performance bonuses.

This salary represents a record for the Turkish league. Additionally, Salah will receive 20% of the revenue generated from the sale of merchandise bearing his name, according to the club's announcement.

Salah expressed his ambition upon arriving in Turkey, stating, "Wherever I go, I win or try to win something. I hope we can achieve great things in the league and in European competitions." The former Liverpool star, who won two Premier League titles and a Champions League trophy with the English club, will be playing in his fifth professional league.

Trabzonspor, champions of Turkey in 2022, are aiming to regain the top spot, competing against established powerhouses like Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, and Beşiktaş.
