Mora's penalty lifts Tijuana to top of Mexican Apertura league

Gilberto Mora, a rising star in Mexican football, scored a crucial penalty to secure a 1-0 victory for Xolos de Tijuana against León. This win propelled the team to the top of the Mexican Apertura league standings. Mora, who made his season debut at the start of the second half, helped Tijuana improve their performance. The 17-year-old calmly converted a penalty in the 53rd minute to seal the win. León had dominated possession in the first half, but Tijuana, under the guidance of Uruguayan coach Sebastián Abreu, came closer to scoring, including a penalty saved by León's goalkeeper Óscar García.
