Morelos Governor Claims 56 Road Projects Completed in 22 Months, Exceeding Predecessor's Term

Morelos Governor Margarita González Saravia announced that her administration has undertaken substantial work in road infrastructure, completing 56 projects in just 22 months. This figure contrasts sharply with the 59 projects completed during the entire six-year term of her predecessor, Cuauhtémoc Blanco Bravo (2018-2024).

During a presentation on the progress of the "Circuito Tierra y Libertad" (Earth and Freedom Circuit), Governor González Saravia stated that her government is delivering social justice by rehabilitating roads that had been neglected for decades. She emphasized that these improved routes connect communities, facilitating access to health services, education, markets, and job opportunities, thereby fostering development.

Adolfo Barragán Cena, the Secretary of Infrastructure, echoed the governor's remarks, criticizing the previous administration for its lack of investment in road maintenance and construction. He explained that the "Circuito Tierra y Libertad" project focuses on recovering and modernizing state and federal roads, with a current plan to address 652 kilometers of strategic routes out of Morelos' approximately 2,030 kilometers of road network.

To date, 283.4 kilometers have been rehabilitated, representing 43% of the six-year goal, with an investment of approximately 639 million pesos. The administration projects surpassing 343 kilometers by the end of 2026, reaching over 52% of its objective, with an accumulated investment exceeding 719 million pesos. The improvements are already showing tangible benefits, such as reduced travel times and enhanced connectivity in areas like Santiopan–Ajuchitlán and Xochitlán.
