Moroccan Dams Reach Exceptional Fill Rates, Boosting Water Security

Morocco is celebrating a remarkable turnaround in its water security situation, with major dams across the kingdom showing an unprecedented surge in water levels. This exceptional recovery, reaching a national average fill rate of 75.88%, offers a much-needed reprieve after years of severe drought.

The Ministry of Equipment and Water's latest bulletin reveals that the total volume of stored water has reached 13.059 billion cubic meters, a dramatic increase from the 40.25% fill rate recorded at the same time last year.
