Moroccan Minister Awards Top Livestock Breeds at International Agricultural Fair in Meknes

Morocco's agricultural sector was on full display at the 18th International Agricultural Fair in Meknes, where Minister of Agriculture, Ahmed El Bouari, personally oversaw the distribution of awards for the finest livestock breeds. This prestigious event celebrated the nation's dedication to advancing animal husbandry and showcasing the quality of its domestic breeds.

The competition was fierce, with around 71 matches drawing over 237 participants. Breeders from across the country presented their best cattle, sheep, goats, and camels, vying for recognition in categories ranging from dairy cows to meat breeds and local varieties like the 'Shaara' and 'Almas Zaer'. The participation of numerous breeders, including those specializing in specific breeds such as 'Montbeliarde', 'Holstein', 'Limousin', and 'Charolais', underscored the diversity and depth of Morocco's livestock industry.

International and national technical committees, experts in animal production, meticulously evaluated each entry based on established technical criteria. The awards not only honor the individual achievements of breeders but also highlight the ongoing efforts to improve livestock quality and productivity in Morocco. This fair serves as a vital platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and celebrating the agricultural heritage and future potential of the Kingdom.
