Moutsatsou on Karystianou's party: 'The work of those who chose to leave is being diminished'

Actress Katerina Moutsatsou has publicly addressed what she calls "false claims" by Maria Karystianou concerning Moutsatsou's contributions to the Culture Sector of the "Elpida" movement. Moutsatsou seeks to clarify her role and defend the work she performed within the political organization.

I do not wish for a personal confrontation with anyone. I wish, however, to protect the truth about the work that was done, and above all, to stubbornly insist on the struggle for Democracy, Freedom, and social emancipation – and of course for Culture…

In a detailed post on X, Moutsatsou stated her intention is not to engage in personal disputes but to safeguard the truth about the work accomplished. She emphasized her commitment to the struggle for democracy, freedom, social emancipation, and culture, calling it "unfair to publicly diminish the contributions of people because they chose to leave or to present their presence and work as if they never existed."

Moutsatsou explained that she initially did not intend to publicize internal matters of the working groups, particularly the Culture Sector. However, she felt compelled to respond after an internal message she sent upon her departure was leaked. She also cited public statements that she claims create the impression that her involvement was minimal, limited to a single presentation, or that those who left did so for personal gain or did nothing significant.

She detailed two comprehensive program proposals she developed during her two-month involvement: one focused on Culture and Cultural Heritage, addressing monument protection, public access to heritage, and the relationship between culture, society, and development; the second focused on Greek Cinema and audiovisual policy with specific proposals.
