MUI and Sharing Happiness Forge Partnership to Boost Muslim Community Welfare

During the 8th Congress of Indonesian Muslims (KUII VIII), the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) and the Sharing Happiness Foundation formalized a partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaboration is designed to synergize programs focused on empowering and improving the welfare of the Muslim community.

The Indonesian Muslim Congress presents great ideas on how Muslims contribute to the nation. Sharing Happiness sees that this spirit needs to be translated into real action.

The KUII VIII, themed 'United Ummah, Sovereign Nation, Strong Country,' provided a strategic platform for MUI and various Islamic organizations to chart a course for the Muslim community. Key agendas highlighted included strengthening religious brotherhood and moderation, building economic sovereignty, developing human resources through science and technology, and increasing engagement with global geopolitical and humanitarian issues.

A significant emphasis was placed on enhancing the distribution of zakat, infaq, sedekah, and waqf (ZISWAF) as a cornerstone of economic development for the Muslim community. This aligns directly with the MoU between MUI and Sharing Happiness, which will focus on the professional and transparent management of these funds, along with other social and religious funds, to maximize their impact.

Through synergy with MUI, we want to strengthen the philanthropy ecosystem so that zakat, infaq, sedekah, waqf, and various social funds can be managed professionally, transparently, and provide broader impact for the community.

She emphasized that the congress's vision for Muslim contributions to the nation needs tangible action. The partnership aims to strengthen the philanthropic ecosystem, ensuring ZISWAF funds are managed effectively to reach a wider audience and foster sustainable community welfare. Santriana added that addressing current social challenges requires broad collaboration, as no single institution can succeed alone.
