Murder accused denies confession claim

A man accused of murdering his pregnant partner has denied confessing to the crime, telling the High Court that he had previously sought a restraining order against her.

Daniel Francis Prasad, 47, is on trial for the alleged murder of his partner at their Nadi home on April 27 last year. Prosecutors say the killing occurred in the presence of their children.

During his testimony, Prasad stated he filed a Domestic Violence Restraining Order against the deceased about six years ago, alleging he was subjected to physical abuse. He repeatedly denied frequent arguments with his partner when questioned by State lawyer Joeli Nasa.
