Museveni Passes Out 106 Senior Security Officers

President Yoweri Museveni has graduated 106 senior security officers who completed the Advanced Joint Senior Political Education and Leadership Development Course at the National Leadership Institute (NALI) in Kyankwanzi. The ceremony, held at State House Entebbe, marked the culmination of a 59-day intensive program designed to enhance the officers' knowledge and skills in national transformation, strategic security, and effective leadership.

The graduates represented a cross-section of Uganda's security apparatus, including the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF), Uganda Police Force (UPF), Uganda Prisons Service (UPS), Internal Security Organisation (ISO), External Security Organisation (ESO), and Wazalendo SACCO. Among the 106 participants, 52 were from the UPDF, with 16 female officers notably serving at command levels.

During the event, President Museveni delivered a "Lecture of Opportunity," emphasizing that national development is a gradual, guided process akin to an insect's metamorphosis. He outlined Uganda's transformation strategy, which aims to move households from subsistence farming into the money economy through commercial agriculture, manufacturing, ICT, and services. Museveni stressed that prosperity stems from production, not begging, and encouraged the officers to promote wealth creation, particularly through the Four-Acre Model of commercial farming.
