Nasarawa gov names eight commissioner nominees

Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has appointed eight new commissioner nominees who are expected to serve in his administration for the remaining months of his tenure. The announcement was made by the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau, during a plenary session in Lafia on Wednesday.

The nominated commissioners include Muhammad Habeeb Nagogo (Wamba LGA), Ahmed Yakubu Mohammed (Lafia LGA), Hon. Mohammed Baba Shehu (Keffi LGA), Hon. Mohammed Iyimoga Oyigye (Obi LGA), Adamu Rabecca Kpadji (Wamba LGA), Nawani Aboki (Doma LGA), Jibril Abdullahi Ibrahim FCNA (Nasarawa LGA), and Ashefo Daniel Paul (Lafia LGA). The Speaker directed the Clerk of the House to ensure that the nominees submit 30 copies of their curriculum vitae and appear for screening on Friday, August 7, 2026, at the State House of Assembly.

This development comes after a minor cabinet reshuffle on July 22, which saw six commissioners step down as part of efforts to reposition the administration for the delivery of its remaining mandates. The Secretary to the Nasarawa State Government, Labaran Shuaibu Magaji (SAN), had announced the reshuffle, stating that the affected ministries included Works, Women Affairs, Information, Lands, Science and Technology, and Security and Other Sundry Matters.
