National Nutrition Body Chief Nanik Deyang Resigns for Heart Treatment Abroad

Nanik Sudaryati Deyang has stepped down from her position as Head of Indonesia's National Nutrition Body (BGN) to undergo medical treatment for a heart condition. She announced her resignation on Facebook, stating her departure for overseas treatment was for a second opinion and based on a recommendation from a friend.

With a heavy heart, I finally bid farewell to Mr. President to undergo treatment in LN for my heart, planned for today, Wednesday (22/7/2026) I am departing.

Deyang expressed her apologies to President Prabowo Subianto, explaining that her health necessitated her resignation. The President, showing concern for her well-being, reportedly approved her request but asked her to continue overseeing the BGN. Deyang mentioned the possibility of President Prabowo establishing a BGN Supervisory Board in the future, for which she would be willing to serve as chairperson.

She indicated a preference for a supervisory role, stating, "as long as it doesn't involve handling money, I swear I'm still traumatized."
