National Nutrition Agency head resigns, citing health and 'trauma with money'

Nanik Sudaryati Deyang has resigned from her position as the head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), citing health concerns as the primary reason for her departure. Deyang plans to travel abroad for heart treatment, with her departure scheduled for Wednesday, July 22, 2026.

In her statement announcing her resignation, Deyang also alluded to a significant personal issue, mentioning 'trauma holding money.' This statement was made in a Facebook post where she expressed her heartfelt farewell to the President. She indicated that her health issues necessitate her focus on treatment overseas.

Deyang confirmed that she has received the President's approval to step down from her role. However, she has also been requested by the President to assist in overseeing the BGN. She mentioned the possibility of forming a supervisory board, where she might serve as its chairperson. Deyang humorously noted her continued ability to be critical, provided it does not involve handling money, reiterating her "acute trauma" related to financial matters.
