Two UMJ Lecturers Secure Funding for Education and Health Innovations

Two lecturers from Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta (UMJ) have secured funding for their innovative research projects from the Indonesian National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) through the Riset dan Inovasi untuk Indonesia Maju (RIIM) Kompetisi Tahun 2026.

The funding, announced via a decree from BRIN's Deputy for Research and Innovation Facilitation, will support distinct initiatives in education and health. Dr. Suharsiwi, from UMJ's Faculty of Education, will develop and validate an integrated system for early identification, decision-making, and intervention in inclusive education in Indonesia, using Australia as a benchmark. This research aims to enhance the quality of educational services for children with special needs.

Simultaneously, Dr. Yani Sofiani, from UMJ's Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences, received funding for her project titled "Development of MIMOS NOPI V1.0 Integrated Neonatal Monitoring System Based on Portable Incubator for Real Time Non Invasive System with IoT and Cloud." This innovation is expected to improve neonatal healthcare services and bolster digital transformation within the health sector.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Tri Yuni Hendrawati, head of UMJ's Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), praised the lecturers' achievement, highlighting it as evidence of UMJ's growing capacity to produce high-quality, innovative, and competitive research at the national level. "We hope the research conducted can yield innovations with broad societal impact and strengthen UMJ's contribution to the development of science and technology in Indonesia," she stated.
