Nausėda: Lithuania ready to deploy forces in Ukraine when conditions allow

Lithuania stands ready to contribute ground forces, including engineering and air defense capabilities, along with training groups and naval assets, to Ukraine within a coalition framework, provided the conditions are suitable for deployment. President Gitanas Nausėda stated that Lithuania has been committed to participating in the "Coalition of the Willing" since the outset.

Nausėda underscored the urgency of implementing decisions made at the NATO summit in Ankara, urging their swift translation into concrete actions. He highlighted the critical need to bolster Ukraine's air defense systems, noting the country's significant shortage of such capabilities, including those supplied through the PURL initiative.

Lithuania has been committed to participating in the Coalition of the Willing since the first day. We are prepared to deploy forces – joint ground forces with engineering and air defense capabilities, a training group, as well as naval forces, as soon as the conditions for their deployment are met.

"Lithuania is contributing to these efforts: we allocate more than 0.25% of GDP annually for military aid. This year, Lithuania increased its contribution to PURL to over 50 million US dollars," the Lithuanian leader announced. This commitment reflects Lithuania's sustained support for Ukraine's defense efforts amidst the ongoing conflict.
