Nearly 1,000 Volunteers Clean Up Baishawan Beach in New Taipei City

Close to a thousand volunteers gathered at Baishawan Beach in New Taipei City for a large-scale beach cleanup, demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental sustainability and marine conservation. The "Sea You There, Clean Up and Create" event was co-organized by the Xinbei Trust Charity Volunteer Association and the Formosa Television Cultural and Educational Foundation. Participants, including families and individuals of all ages, worked together to remove marine litter from the coastline. New Taipei City mayoral candidate Su Chiao-hui also attended to show her support for the initiative. Several well-known actors from popular Taiwanese dramas joined the effort, lending their presence to the cause of protecting the marine environment. After a day of dedicated work, the volunteers successfully collected about 252 kilograms of trash, restoring the beach's cleanliness and contributing to the health of marine ecosystems. Dr. Hsu Mu-chuan, president of the Xinbei Trust Charity Volunteer Association, stated that the association's mission is to foster a spirit of volunteerism and create a society filled with love and trust. He highlighted this beach cleanup as the association's first major public welfare action since its establishment, emphasizing a theme of parent-child participation in environmental activities. The association plans to continue its community service efforts, including meal delivery for the underprivileged and tutoring for children.
