Nearly 600,000 Vehicles Entered Highways on Vietnam's National Day Holiday

Vietnam's highways saw a surge in traffic on the first day of the National Day holiday, with nearly 600,000 vehicles entering the toll roads. The statistics, released by the Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security, indicate a substantial increase compared to the previous year, highlighting the holiday travel rush.

Specifically, on August 29, a total of 597,896 vehicle entries were recorded across the highway network. This figure comprised 392,394 passenger cars, 96,083 other vehicles, 63,379 trucks, and 38,515 semi-trailers and containers. Simultaneously, 562,118 vehicles exited the highways, including 377,509 passenger cars and 89,011 buses.

The data reveals a notable increase of 175,661 entries and 151,584 exits compared to the same period in 2025. In the key areas of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, traffic flow from local roads onto highways reached 253,795 entries, with 176,148 heading into highways from Hanoi and 77,647 from Ho Chi Minh City. Conversely, 205,625 vehicles exited highways onto local roads in these regions.

Despite the high volume, traffic conditions were reported as generally stable. The Traffic Police Department has deployed forces and resources to manage traffic flow proactively, aiming to prevent congestion and ensure the safety of travelers during the holiday period. They urge motorists to adhere to traffic regulations, maintain safe distances, and avoid stopping or parking illegally on the highways.
