Need to apply for or renew your ID? Reniec offers free services in Lima and 15 other regions

Peru’s National Registry of Identification and Civil Status, known as Reniec, is taking free identity-document services to public venues across 16 regions from Aug. 31 to Sept. 6.

The mobile campaign will operate in municipalities, auditoriums, community centers, main squares and other public spaces. Opening hours will differ by location, so residents must check the schedule for their region before attending.

Children, older adults, people with disabilities and citizens in vulnerable situations are the main intended beneficiaries. They can complete DNI procedures, collect documents that have already been issued and receive guidance on civil-registration services.

The campaign covers Amazonas, Áncash, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Cusco, Huancavelica, Huánuco, Ica, Junín, La Libertad, Loreto, Lima, Puno, Tacna and Ucayali. Reniec said the effort aims to reduce gaps in documentation and bring services closer to people who have greater difficulty reaching a regular office.

The campaign also includes delivery of the electronic DNI 3.0 to people who completed the process earlier and whose documents are ready. Users can check the official online status platform. A progress reading of 100% means the document is available for collection at the designated Reniec location.
