Negeri Sembilan voters head to polls amid calls for stability and integrity

Voters in Negeri Sembilan are casting their ballots today in the state election, deciding the fate of 36 seats in the State Legislative Assembly and, more importantly, the direction of the state's administration for the next five years.

To the residents and voters of Negeri Sembilan, especially the Muslim majority and our friends among the Chinese, Indians, and Orang Asli, let us fulfill our responsibility as voters. Cooperation from all parties is very good, and we are confident that PH will be given the mandate and achieve victory.

Leaders from the major contesting parties have issued appeals to the state's 889,490 registered voters, urging them to exercise their right and responsibility at the polling stations. Messages from the campaign trail have focused on a range of issues, including calls to maintain political stability, protect the interests of all ethnic groups, strengthen the Malay community's position, and elect candidates with integrity and the capacity to drive development.

Pakatan Harapan (PH) Chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim encouraged all residents, particularly Muslims and their Chinese, Indian, and Orang Asli counterparts, to vote, expressing confidence in PH securing a mandate. Barisan Nasional (BN) Chairman Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi conveyed confidence in their approach, promising voters something "different" from the current administration. Perikatan Nasional (PN) Chairman Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar stressed the need for stable, efficient, and fair governance, urging voters to assess candidates based on integrity and ability to foster unity.

We are only confident in what we are doing, and we are confident that we will be able to present the voters and residents of Negeri Sembilan with something different from what they are getting now.

State-level leaders also weighed in. Negeri Sembilan PH Chairman Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun asserted his coalition's commitment to representing all communities, including Malays, Chinese, and Indians, and highlighted past successes in Malay-majority areas. Negeri Sembilan BN Chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan emphasized the Malay majority in the state and the historical significance of Malay leadership, urging a return to this core concept. Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin called on Bersatu supporters to remain steadfast, focusing on the future of children and the economy.

Negeri Sembilan needs an administration that is stable, efficient, has integrity, and is fair to all its people. Evaluate candidates based on integrity, capability, the ability to build consensus, and the commitment to serve.

Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias, Chairman of the Negeri Sembilan UMNO Liaison Body, made a final appeal for support from the people of Negeri Sembilan to fulfill their voting duty.

We are confident in bringing the voices of all people regardless of race, including Malays, Chinese, and Indians. We have proven this when given the mandate to win in Malay-majority areas. Malays need not fear giving us the opportunity to win more seats in Malay areas.
