Nepal floods: 51 Malaysians among 668 people unaccounted for

Fifty-one Malaysian nationals are among 668 people who remain unaccounted for in the wake of severe flooding in Nepal. A document released by the Nepal Department of Tourism, titled 'Tourist list (out of contact) in Bhotekoshi Flood,' identifies tourists from various countries who have not been reachable since the disaster struck.

The list, updated on the afternoon of the previous day, includes personal details such as names, birth dates, gender, country of origin, and the travel agencies used by the individuals. The comprehensive list of 668 missing persons highlights the widespread impact of the floods on international travelers in the region.

Of the 51 Malaysians on the list, many had booked their trips through several prominent travel agencies. These include Kailash Journey, Leaf Holiday, Fishtail, and Dream Tibet Travel and Tour, indicating a significant number of Malaysian tourists were utilizing these services when the floods occurred. The authorities are continuing efforts to ascertain the whereabouts of all missing individuals.
