New Direct Flight Route from Ho Chi Minh City to Van Don to Launch

Vietnam's connectivity is set to receive a significant boost with the upcoming launch of a direct flight route between Ho Chi Minh City and Van Don, scheduled to commence on June 15, 2026. Operated by Sun PhuQuoc Airways, the service will feature four weekly flights, strategically scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, to cater to the flexible travel needs of passengers.

This new air link is poised to offer considerable advantages, primarily by drastically reducing travel time and eliminating the need for layovers. Beyond mere convenience, the route is envisioned as a crucial strategic bridge for commerce, enhancing supply chain connections, trade, and, notably, tourism between the southern economic hub and the northeastern region. For the Northeast, Van Don International Airport stands as a vital modern transportation gateway, providing direct access to Quảng Ninh's renowned natural and cultural heritage sites, including Ha Long Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay, and the island tourism destinations of Quan Lan, Minh Chau, and Co To.

As the region actively promotes its heritage economy, night economy, green tourism, and high-quality resort complexes, this direct HCMC-Van Don route is anticipated to be a powerful catalyst for attracting affluent domestic tourists from the South.
