New investment in Zagreb's Lučko Street: Reconstruction worth 2.5 million euros begins

The City of Zagreb is set to undertake a significant infrastructure project, investing approximately 2.5 million euros in the reconstruction of Lučko Street in the Lučko settlement on the city's outskirts. The tender process for selecting a contractor has commenced, marking the beginning of this substantial urban development initiative.

The scope of the reconstruction is extensive, covering a length of 967.31 meters. The project entails a comprehensive overhaul of the street's surface, including the paving of roadways and pedestrian walkways. Additionally, new traffic signals will be installed to improve road safety and traffic flow. The plan also includes the construction of a new storm drainage system with a separator.

Crucial utility infrastructure will be relocated as part of the project. This includes moving approximately 400 meters of gas pipeline and 950 meters of water pipeline. Furthermore, the low-voltage power grid and public lighting systems will be repositioned, along with the grounding for bus stop canopies.

The reconstruction will also focus on enhancing public transportation accessibility by renovating five existing bus stops along the route. The project area extends from Puškarićeva Street in the south to a roundabout near house number 72 in the north. Throughout the construction period, two-way traffic for vehicles and pedestrian movement will be maintained.

The anticipated timeline for the completion of the works is eight months, with the contract duration set at ten months. This investment aims to modernize the infrastructure in Lučko, improving the quality of life for residents and enhancing the functionality of this key thoroughfare.
