New Pertamina Well Produces 326 Barrels of Oil Daily

PT Pertamina Drilling Services Indonesia (Pertamina Drilling) has announced the successful completion of the JAS-034 development well, operated by PT Pertamina EP Zona 7 at the Jatisari Field in West Java. The initial production test from this new well indicates a promising output of 326 barrels of oil per day (BOPD).

Komedi, Vice President of Rig Services Operation at Pertamina Drilling, stated that the production test commenced on July 15, 2026, following the completion of drilling operations. The entire drilling process, which began on June 3, 2026, was finished within 44 days using the PDSI#15.3/N110-M rig, and notably, was carried out with zero work-related accidents.

"Alhamdulillah, the well was completed safely. Zero Accident and Zero NPT, and it is producing hydrocarbons as targeted," Komedi said in a written statement on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. Technically, the JAS-034 well was drilled directionally to a measured depth of 2,590 meters (mMD) and a true vertical depth of 2,381.1 meters (mTVD), targeting the Baturaja Formation's BRF layer.

Beyond meeting production targets, the project also demonstrated significant cost efficiency for Pertamina. The realized drilling costs amounted to approximately 63.16% of the budget authorized by SKK Migas. Komedi attributed this success to the collaborative efforts of the entire operational team and supporting service companies, emphasizing safety, equipment reliability, and operational discipline. The timely completion and positive initial test results are expected to contribute to the national oil and gas production targets.
