NIA signs MOU for voice phishing prevention education cooperation

In a significant move to combat the rising threat of voice phishing, particularly against vulnerable elderly populations, the National Information Society Agency (NIA) has joined forces with the Dongbu Police Station and the Donggu Park Golf Association in Daegu. This strategic partnership, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), establishes a crucial three-party cooperative framework focused on prevention, investigation, and education.

The Dongbu Police Station will contribute its extensive experience from ongoing investigations to develop tailored educational programs and disseminate information on fraud cases. The NIA, a leader in digital literacy, will play a pivotal role in enhancing digital crime response capabilities. Leveraging its 'AI Digital Learning Center,' the agency will provide education specifically designed for seniors, ensuring the information is accessible and understandable. Furthermore, the NIA will support the application of AI and data analysis to reduce voice phishing incidents, showcasing a forward-thinking approach to combating cybercrime.
