The All Progressives Congress in Niger State is making decisive moves to solidify its political standing ahead of the 2027 governorship elections. Our party is united in its resolve to back Governor Mohammed Bago, positioning him as the sole candidate for the upcoming race. This strategic alignment aims to ensure a cohesive and strong front for the APC, reflecting the confidence and support Governor Bago commands within the state chapter.

Barring any last-minute development, Governor Mohammed Bago will fly the APC ticket without any contender.

While the governorship ticket appears set, the dynamics for the Niger State House of Assembly seats will be guided by zoning principles. This approach acknowledges the importance of regional balance and representation within the state, potentially leading to a shift in the composition of the assembly as many current members might not secure nominations.

The All Progressives Congress in Niger State is doing well. We are going to conduct the election primaries in accordance with the law. The law stipulates concensus but direct primaries if members so prefer.

Our party spokesman, Musa Sarkin-Daji, has assured that all electoral processes will strictly adhere to the provisions of the electoral act. The decision between consensus or direct primaries will be determined after the conclusion of the form collection period, ensuring that the process remains transparent and inclusive.
