Nigeria's NCC hands over digital facilities to Enugu government

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has officially handed over the Digital Industrial Park and the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) to the Enugu State Government. This transfer is part of a 15-year operational lease agreement aimed at fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and human capital development within the state.

Aminu Maida, the NCC's chief executive officer, stated during the ceremony that these facilities are part of a national initiative to establish six digital industrial parks. Their purpose is to deepen digital skills, support startups, attract investment, and generate employment opportunities. Maida emphasized that these assets are designed not just as physical infrastructure but as platforms to cultivate the talent and enterprises crucial for Nigeria's digital economy.

He announced plans to transform the Digital Industrial Park into "Enugu Talent City," a knowledge-driven outsourcing hub for Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO). This initiative aims to enable local talent to serve global companies without relocating, aligning with the federal government's digital economy agenda and President Bola Tinubu's "Renewed Hope Agenda."
