Norris Leads Hungaroring Practice Ahead of Hamilton and Antonelli

Lando Norris of McLaren set the pace in the final free practice session at the Hungaroring, clocking the quickest lap time for the Hungarian Grand Prix. The reigning world champion, who won at this track last year, demonstrated strong form ahead of qualifying.

Norris's best lap of 1 minute, 17.939 seconds put him ahead of compatriot Lewis Hamilton of Ferrari by 0.117 seconds. Andrea Kimi Antonelli, the current championship leader, was third fastest, just 0.129 seconds behind Norris. All three set their fastest times on soft tires, indicating the conditions and tire strategy for the upcoming sessions.

Spanish drivers Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) and Carlos Sainz (Williams) experienced less successful sessions, finishing 17th and 20th respectively. Alonso, despite some car developments, was nearly two and a half seconds slower than Norris, while Sainz was almost three and a half seconds off the pace.

The session was briefly interrupted by a red flag when Sergio Pérez's Cadillac stopped on track due to a brake problem, preventing him from setting a time. Antonelli continues to lead the World Championship standings with 204 points, followed by Hamilton and George Russell.
