North Sumatra Governor Fulfills Dream of Permanent School Building in Nias Utara

Governor of North Sumatra, Bobby Nasution, has initiated the construction of a permanent school building for students at SMP Negeri 4 Sitolu Ori in Nias Utara, fulfilling a long-held dream. This development marks a significant step towards improving educational facilities in the region, addressing the needs of a school that has operated in temporary structures since its establishment in 2024.

Mr. Governor, thank you for your attention to our school. May Your Excellency's sustenance increase, and may you be wise in leading North Sumatra.

The provincial government's assistance will provide three new classrooms, fully furnished, along with an administrative complex. This complex will house offices for the principal, teachers, and administrative staff, as well as a reception area. The project also includes essential sanitation facilities, with separate toilets for male, female, and disabled students.

Previously, students like Electra Stefani, a ninth-grader, described the challenging conditions of learning in a school with wooden walls and a tin roof. She noted the discomfort caused by leaks and mosquitoes during rainy seasons. Electra expressed her joy and gratitude towards Governor Nasution for the new building, wishing him continued success and wisdom in leading North Sumatra.

The head of SMP Negeri 4 Sitolu Ori, Teti Gea, lauded the governor's support as a testament to his commitment to enhancing education quality in North Sumatra. The school currently serves 45 students across three grades. Gea also appealed for additional support for a laboratory, library, and improved road access, emphasizing that many students walk long distances, some up to five kilometers, to attend school daily.

So we also want the access road to be built immediately. The children here, some walk two to five kilometers. Some leave at 6:00 AM, they walk.
