NU Finalizes Preparations for National Conference and Grand Congress in Kediri

Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) is putting the finishing touches on preparations for its upcoming national conference and grand congress. These significant events are slated to be held at the Al Falah Islamic boarding school in Kediri, East Java, on June 20-21, 2026.

Secretary-General of the NU's central board, Saifullah Yusuf, also known as Gus Ipul, expressed gratitude for the pesantren's extensive preparations. He highlighted the intensive communication between the NU central board and the Al Falah pesantren, emphasizing the support from the pesantren's leaders and students. "We are very grateful that all the Gus here, all the students here have prepared well, and this certainly eases the burden on the Nahdlatul Ulama central board," Yusuf stated. He also requested prayers for the smooth proceedings of the events.

The conference and congress will also serve as a platform to discuss preparations for the NU's main congress, scheduled for August 2026. "We ask for prayers and blessings from all Nahdlatul Ulama members and all Indonesian people for the process towards the congress in August to be smooth and blessed. I think that's the most important thing," Yusuf said. The exact location for the main congress remains undecided and will be a key topic of discussion during the national conference and grand congress.

Several regions have expressed their readiness to host the main congress. "Following requests from several regions that are ready to host the congress, we will discuss it at the upcoming national conference and grand congress," Yusuf added. Prominent NU figures, including Rais 'Aam KH Miftachul Akhyar and Wakil Rais 'Aam KH Anwar Iskandar, were present to finalize the arrangements at the pesantren.
