Oaxaca Official Accused of Involvement in Vehicle Theft Ring

Ricardo Ramírez Pérez, the second trustee of the Oaxaca de Juárez city council, faces serious accusations from the State Attorney General's Office. He is alleged to be part of a criminal network involved in the theft, alteration, and sale of stolen vehicles operating within the metropolitan area of the state capital.

Ramírez, who also goes by the alias “El Duck” and previously served as the municipal agent of Santa Rosa Panzacola, was apprehended during an operation coordinated by the Oaxaca Prosecutor's Office, the Secretariat of the Navy, the Secretariat of Citizen Security and Protection of the Federal Government, and the State Police.

The public servant was arrested around 11:11 AM in the municipality of San Bartolo Coyotepec, outside the Chu Rasgado building within the Judicial City complex. The arrest was executed based on an arrest warrant for his probable responsibility in the commission of the crime of specific theft, stemming from criminal case file 0338/2026.

According to the investigation, Ramírez is implicated with a criminal network engaged in stealing, altering, and selling stolen vehicles. A control judge issued the arrest warrant based on the evidence gathered in the investigation, allowing state and federal forces to apprehend Ramírez and present him to judicial authorities for legal proceedings.
